The Rosalia Fire Department was officially established in 1936 and Whitman County Fire Protection District 7 in 1953.  Today the two function as a cooperative unit, deploying out of two stations (Rosalia and Thornton). More than 30 volunteers form the backbone of our department, supported by one paid part time firefighter.
The firefighters are represented by the Rosalia Volunteer Firefighter’s Association, a non-profit organization established to to accept and manage donations for the benefit of the communities we serve and the personnel of the Rosalia Fire Department and the Rosalia Ambulance.
